When you make Eliston your home you get so much more than the amazing facilities within our estate. Eliston is part of the City of Casey, host to some amazing local amenities with the neighbouring Western Port region just 15 minutes away. Discover what’s on in Clyde and around the City of Casey for August. We’ve round up some great activities in the local area, including free and family friendly events.

Casey Branch VDCS including Annual Chocolate Demonstration, Berwick

When: Saturday 13 August, 1:00pm – 3:30pm

Where: The Old Cheese Factory, 34 Homestead Road, Berwick

What: Everyone is invited to the Casey Branch of the VCDS Inc’s Annual Chocolate Demonstration held every August will celebrate chocolate with Anne from the Mixing Bowl Hallam. This year Anne will share with us her secrets in making Chocolate “Not” Cross Buns and Loaves, Chocolate Hazelnut Bearclaws and Chocolate Caramel and Nut Tart.

$5 members $15 non-members, $10 children under 16.

Winter Arts Festival: Thursday Painting Group, Berwick

When: Every Thursday until 25 August, 10:00am – 1:00pm

Where: The Old Cheese Factory, 34 Homestead Road, Berwick

What: On each Thursday morning enthusiast painters gather for a morning of mutual support and camaraderie. Come and join the Thursday morning painters group presented by the Berwick Artists Society. $6 members $7 non-members, visitors and children free.

Life Cycle, 55+ Explore Casey Ride

When: Every Friday from August to December – 5 August, 19 August & 26 August, 1:30pm – 3:00pm

Where: Casey Fields, 160 Berwick-Cranbourne Road, Cranbourne East

What: Cycling Victoria presents Life Cycle 55+, a cycling program for people aged 55 years and over who want to get on their bikes and ride. Join this social ride with like-minded individuals on a regular weekly ride. The rides explore the local area and will always start at the same time and location each week throughout the year. The rides will be led by an experienced Life Cycle 55+ Ride Leader.

This will be held at the Casey Fields Criterium Cycling Track.

Dad’s Matter Project: Cook it with Dad, Clyde North

When: Saturday 13 August, Saturday 20 August & Saturday 27 August, 10:30am – 12:00pm

Where: 45 Haflinger Avenue, Clyde North

What: FREE event – registration is essential.

The Cook it with Dad program is an opportunity for fathers and children to experience cooking together. Held every Saturday at the Selandra Family and Children’s Centre (during school term).

The program fosters:
* Dads and children spending quality time and strengthening relationships
* Families learning and eating healthy meals
* Children learning life time skills and building confidence
* Meeting other Dads

Winter Arts Festival: Open Studios Bus Tour, Berwick

When: Saturday 13 August, 12:00pm – 4:00pm

Where: Akoonah Park Reserve, Cardinia Street, Berwick

What: FREE event – registration is essential. A hop on-hop off bus service will be operating on Saturday 13 August from Gate 6 gallery (SECAN artists). The bus will visit all seven studios over three hours. Limited spots available.

Special Cat Desexing Event, Cranbourne East

When: Friday 12 & Saturday 13 August

Where: South Eastern Pound Services, 920 Thompsons Road, Cranbourne West

What: The City of Casey has teamed up with the Lost Dogs’ Home to offer Casey residents the chance to have their cat desexed for a reduced price of just $50. Free microchipping will also be offered at the time. Cats must be in good health and aged between nine weeks and eight-years-old.

Winter Arts Festival: Casey Choir Annual Concert, Berwick

When: Sunday 21 August, 2:00pm – 4:00pm

Where: 500 Soldiers Road, Berwick

What: Come and enjoy an eclectic repertoire of songs sung by an accomplished women’s choir. Enjoy songs from the shows, catchy folk songs, celtic ballads and African gospel, just to list a few! We are all local ladies and you won’t be disappointed in the quality of our singing. We are ably led by Mr Simon Loveless and accompanied by Ms Kerith Cummins.
The afternoon concert will be supported by special guest artist duo ‘La Dolce Dissonanza’ and a fantastic afternoon tea.

Mozzarella and Haloumi Cheese Making Workshop, Berwick

When: Saturday 27 August, 9:30am – 3:30pm

Where: The Old Cheese Factory, 34 Homestead Road, Berwick

What: Hands on workshop, tickets – $120

Ever wanted to know how to make your own cheese? Each workshop also gets an opportunity to watch a demonstration on Whey Ricotta or Greek Style yogurt.

All participants will have the opportunity to get involved and take samples home!
