When you make Eliston your home you get so much more than the amazing facilities within our estate. Eliston is part of the City of Casey, host to some amazing local amenities with the neighbouring Western Port region just 15 minutes away. Discover what’s on in Clyde and around the City of Casey for January and the summer school holidays. We’ve round up some great activities in the local area, including free and family friendly events.

Royal Botanic Gardens, Cranbourne

When: Various daily tours during January

Where: Corner of Ballarto Rd & Botanic Drive, Cranbourne

What:
Desert Fairies & Elves (kids 3 – 6 years): Discover the magic of desert fairies and elves in the Australian Garden through storytelling and activities. Desert fairies and elves are encouraged to wear their best costumes! Children must be accompanied by an adult. Bookings are required. $11.55 per child.

Summer Succulents (kids 3+ years): Learn how succulents survive the summer heat. Pot up a summer succulent to take home with you. This activity takes 15 minutes. Children must be accompanied by an adult. $6 per child.

Recline, Relax & Read: Recline, relax and read in the Northern Display Gardens. Come along and enjoy the top ten gardening books that are hot this summer and settle down in a comfortable spot to read them. FREE.

Flora Australis (walking tour): Join an experienced guide on a fascinating journey through time. Discover how Australian plants have evolved and adapted over millions of years and how human interaction with plants has changed over time. Discounted passes can also be purchased for two walking tours OR one walking tour plus a daily pass on the Garden Explorer.

Snapshots of Australia (walking tour): Travel through the landscapes of Australia with an experienced guide while taking in the sights, sounds and smells of this unique continent. This tour explores seasonal colour providing visitors with a snapshot of the very best the Australian Garden has to offer. This tour starts at and loops back to the Visitor Centre. Discounted passes can also be purchased for two walking tours OR one walking tour plus a daily pass on the Garden Explorer.

Garden Explorer (group tour): The Garden Explorer is the easiest way to discover this 15-hectare garden. Take a seat, enjoy the commentary and the ride as you wind your way around the Australian Garden in open-air comfort. Purchase a daily pass for the Garden Explorer and hop on and off as you please. Passes available from the driver and the Visitor Centre.

Plants for Your Place (walking tour): If you have ever wanted to learn more about using Australian plants in your garden, then this is the tour for you! Join an experienced guide on a journey from the Red Centre to the eastern seaboard, picking up expert tips to help you find the best Aussie plants that are right for your place. Discounted passes can also be purchased for two walking tours OR one walking tour plus a daily pass on the Garden Explorer.

Saturday Night Live, Berwick

When: Saturdays 7th, 14th, 21st & 28th January, 6:00pm – 9:00pm

Where: Wilson Botanic Park, 668 Princes Highway, Berwick

What: Back by popular demand – Live music at Wilson Botanic Park Berwick. Enjoy listening to performances by various local artists each Saturday, at the picturesque Lakeside. BYO picnic, drink, chairs and blanket. Responsible consumption of alcohol is permitted. Check their Facebook page for details of artists.

Holiday Fun Activities (10 – 17 years), Cranbourne

Where: Cranbourne Youth Info Centre, Cranbourne Park Shopping Centre

What: Download the Holiday Fun flyer to find out about great youth activities available at the Cranbourne, Hampton Park and Narre Warren Youth Info Centres. Activities include Virtual Reality, Candle Making, Dance Like Bey workshop, Chocolate Making, Chalk Street Art and more.

Bus Trip for Dad & Kids to Myuna Farm

When: Tuesday 17th January, 10:00am to 2:30pm

Where: Leaves from Lynbrook Community Centre, Corner of Lynbrook Boulevard and Harris Street, Lynbrook

What: Pack Dad and the kids off for an exciting day of farm life! BYO lunch. Bookings essential.

What: Enter the world of the Angry Birds designing and decorating your very own Angry Bird paper lantern or enjoy the fun and creative experience of the Plaster Fun House where children can make their own masterpiece to take home!

What: Join in the local Australia Day fun with great events on around the City of Casey including live music, food stalls, rides, arts and craft, animals and more.
