Winter has arrived! 

This is the part where we pen our love letter to our surrounding community in winter, because instead of hitting snooze while we wait for summer to show up again, we turn up the volume and keep the good times rolling. 

Of course, the weather’s unpredictable, but don’t worry, the Casey Winter Arts Festival is putting on an extravaganza of fabulous events all month long for the whole family to enjoy. 

Whether you want to immerse yourself in a winter wonderland, partake in some fabulous theatre productions, or brave the chill for an exploration of nature’s wonders, there is something for everyone.

School of Rock 

When: Saturday 8th – 22nd June
Where: Bunjil Place, 2 Patrick NE Dr, Narre Warren

Windmill Theatre Company (We Will Rock You, Beauty and The Beast, Jersey Boys, Seussical) proudly presents School of Rock, the electrifying musical sensation that’s taking the stage by storm. 

Directed by Danny Ginsberg (We Will Rock You, Jersey Boys), this highly anticipated musical promises to deliver an electrifying experience that will have audiences on their feet.

Based on the beloved film, School of Rock tells the story of Dewey Finn, a wannabe rock star who poses as a substitute teacher and transforms a class of straight-A students into a rock band. With infectious tunes, energetic performances, and a heartwarming narrative, this production is sure to captivate audiences of all ages.

Professional Development Workshop with Music Victoria 

When: Wednesday, 26th June
Where: Bunjil Place
Time: 6:00pm – 8:30pm
Cost: Free 

Music Victoria will be bringing their industry expertise to Narre Warren for a professional development session as part of the Live and Local program in collaboration with the Live Music Office. It will be an opportunity for Casey locals to meet with and learn from the state’s peak body for contemporary music, as well as leading figures in the Victorian industry. 

The session will unpack the tools for setting yourself up professionally as a musician, as well as the ingredients for building a successful live music community.

Dino Safari at Wilson Botanic Park
When: 28th June – 7 July

Where: Wilson Botanic Park, Berwick

Let your imagination run wild and travel back in time as Dino Safari transforms Wilson Botanic Park into a prehistoric wonderland. 

Get ready for an incredible adventure at the extinct volcanic site, where Dino Safari stomps into town, inviting families to journey back in time to the breathtaking wonders of the Mesozoic era! Get ready for an adventure like no other, where you’ll enjoy roving dinosaurs, animatronics, and fossil dig sandpits.

Frosted – A Winter Wonderland

When: Friday 21st June – Saturday 20th July
Time: 11:00am, 2:00pm and 7:00pm daily
Where: Westfield Fountain Gate, 25-55 Overland Dr, Narre Warren

Embark on a magical winter journey at FROSTED – A Winter Spectacular, celebrating Christmas in July!
During the months of June and July 2024, the big field in Narre Warren opposite  Westfield Fountain Gate Fountain Gate will be transformed into a whimsical sanctuary where all can revel in the magic of a traditional winter Christmas in July under the Big Top.
Event zone features include: 

  • Snow land – Where you can delve into an inflatable playground of frosted fun
  • Bakery – Create your own adorably frosty snowman or reindeer biscuits with special French icings
  • Mrs Claus’ Storytelling Corner – Join Mrs Claus and celebrate the frosty season with some of your favourite Christmas carols and stories.
  • Winter Craft Corner – Unleash your creativity at our winter craft village where you can create your own reindeer antlers.
  • The Elf’s Village – Make your own snow Globe.
  • Character Meet & Greets – Enjoy a special photo moment with your favourite frosty characters, with appearances from Frosty the Snowman and Everest from Abominable.
  • Live Performances – Get swept up with amazing circus performances.
  • Polar Bear Ball Pit – Slip down the inflatable slide past the polar bear and into the ball pit with 100,000 Balls
  • Taboggan Slide – Grab your special mat and slip your way down the artificial icy taboggan slope.
  • Skating – Glide across the icy field on our enchanting artificial skating rink
  • Refreshments – Delight your tastebuds with a selection of wintery food and drinks
  • Reindeer Barn – Don’t forget to visit Rudolf’s Barn

This is a spectacular for all ages where you can immerse yourself in the breathtaking beauty of a winter wonderland.
